Chivas 18yo
Scroll-stopping teaser visuals
2024
A relaunched bottle only gets one chance to make a first impression. The job was to make sure no one scrolled past it.
Ahead of the re-staged Chivas 18 bottle launch, I was tasked with developing a series of teaser films built for digital. High-impact, scroll-stopping moments designed to build curiosity before the full reveal.

Approach

Moodboard, Bottle design reference, Storyboards
The strategy was restraint. Show enough to intrigue, not enough to satisfy.
Rather than leading with the full bottle, the films were built around close-up glimpses of its most distinctive details, premium materials, refined geometry, and considered design. Working within Chivas's established visual language, each composition was built to communicate luxury instantly and leave the viewer wanting more.

Process
The process started with research: materials, lighting references, and the cinematic tone the films needed to carry. From there, the unique design characteristics of the re-staged bottle were analysed to identify which details would land hardest in close-up.
Early storyboards and lighting experiments followed, testing compositions that could hold attention in a short format while building genuine anticipation. Dynamic camera angles, considered transitions, motion blur, and match cuts were used to create energy and momentum across each film. Music was selected to reinforce the cinematic tone rather than just fill the silence.

Final Design
The finished films were well received by the client and deployed across multiple social channels as part of the launch campaign. They also made it beyond the feed entirely, shown on large screens at in-person launch events to build anticipation in the room as well as online.
