The brief was to create two short films for Ballantine’s core products, Finest and B7, showcasing the distinct flavour profiles of each whisky.


To introduce a new visual edge, the client explored 3D to translate these flavours into dynamic moments across digital brand spaces and out-of-home environments.


Combined, the films achieved over one million views online.

BALLANTINE'S FINEST

BALLANTINE'S 7YO

Following the success of the first film, the client requested an additional film for Ballantine’s 7 Year Old.


With a darker, more expressive character informed by the bottle’s branding and flavour profile, the visual approach shifted from a kitchen setting to references drawn from a rustic listening bar.

DEVELOPMENT

The design process presented several challenges, starting with modelling the bottle from scratch and carefully resolving the UVs for the labels and vinyls. I also explored Cinema 4D’s simulation system to help shape the whisky dynamics.


The kitchen environment was designed from reference, striking a balance between familiarity and restraint — detailed enough to feel believable, but intentionally minimal to avoid distracting from the foreground dynamics.
